Types of Sentence
The sentence we use can be divided into four types, according to their purpose

1.  Statements: Mr. Rahim is leaving the school next year.
2. Questions: Why is Mr. Rahim leaving the school next year?
3. Directives/request: Clear your desk before leaving.
4. Exclamations: What a singer she was!
   
   All simple statement sentences contain one subject and one verb.
